Wondering how to get started  on your running journey?

Running is a great way to start getting fit and to keep you fit and healthy. It's also being a fantastic way to meet new friends and connect with like minded people from your local community.

So, how do you get involved? Well, we all have to start somewhere and it doesn't matter if it's your first ever run, you are returning from injury or coming back after a break. If you'd like to get started in running we strongly recommend that you join one of the fantastic couch-to-5k introductory programs in your local area. There are plenty to choose from around Belfast

JogBelfast run a number of completely free 10 week beginner running programs around Belfast three times a year. From January-March, April-June and September-November. To find more information and to find out where your closest group is please check out: www.jogbelfast.co.uk

The team at Ormeau Runners are very happy to recommend the likes of the JogBelfast programme or, brand new for 2019, our own totally free Ormeau Runners 9 week programme. Please see our Club Events page for further details on the club's current and future couch-to-5k programmes.

Quite a few of our 100+ regular runners have successfully completed the JogBelfast programmes and have gone on from this with great success to complete a wide range of 10k's, half and even full marathons with us. We hope to achieve similar success with our own programme in the near future!
